The Project:
In July of this year, Emma Ruse Productions is working on a development process for a stage adaptation of Warriors and Witches and Damn Rebel Bitches by Mairi Kidd. The book is an anthology of Scottish women from history, and proposes what we can learn from their stories. This R&D will explore how we can transport this reclamation of our historical narrative to the stage. We are working with Laura Walker (Director) and Ellen Bradbury (playwright) to develop this work.
Dates: 16th - 22nd July (working Mon-Fri, dates inclusive of travel days)

We are looking for the below roles to support this process:
Set Designer Callout:
We are looking for a Scotland-based set designer to take part in the devising process for this R&D. We are particularly interested in hearing from designers who are women, non-binary or of another marginalised gender. We are looking for someone who will be a good fit within the creative devising process, to work collaboratively on the project. The designer will work with the creative team to begin to envision what the show could look like.
Fee: £600 + Holiday Pay, Travel/Accommodation & Access Costs

Performer Callout:
We are looking for 4 Scotland-based performers/devisers to support the devising process of this R&D. We are looking for performers who are women, non-binary or of another marginalised gender. We are excited to bring together a team with a diverse range of creative styles and points of interest who are collaborative and passionate about the project. Performers should have experience of devising and an interest in feminist performance.
Fee: £600 + Holiday Pay, Travel/Accommodation & Access Costs
