• National Youth Arts Advisory Group in conjunction with Creative Scotland + Young Scot (2014-present)

  • Culture Theme Leader in Communic18, for the Year of Young People 2018 in conjunction with the Scottish Government (2017-2018)

Emma's advocacy work has primarily focused around representing young people on a national level, primarily within arts and culture.

As part of this role, they have co-designed and presented two national youth arts conventions, distributed hundreds of thousands of pounds of government funding to support youth arts and helped develop and implement Time to Shine, the national youth arts strategy.

Emma has played a key role in the past three Edinburgh International Culture Summits as a plenary speaker, a rapporteur and a panellist, respectively. Her youth arts advocacy has also taken her to the European Parliament, where she presented a workshop on the Year of Young People in 2018.

Emma would now like to develop her advocacy to also focus on supporting emerging artists, as well as giving a voice to young people in Scotland.
